Prime Detailing & Tinting’s paint correction removes swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation to restore a finish that looks better than the day you bought it.
Paint correction is the process of removing surface imperfections from your vehicle’s paint. Swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and water spots don’t buff out with a regular wash. Correction uses professional compounds and machine polishers to actually remove the damaged layer and restore the paint underneath.
reasons to apply
Your paint takes a beating every day. Correction undoes the damage.
Swirl marks and light scratches are visible in direct sunlight and make even a clean car look dull. Correction removes them rather than covering them up.
Corrected paint looks dramatically different. Colors appear richer, reflections sharper, and the finish looks the way it did when the vehicle was new.
If you're considering ceramic coating, paint correction should come first. Coating locks in whatever is underneath it. Correcting first means you're sealing in a flawless finish, not imperfections.
Not every vehicle needs the same level of correction. Here’s how we figure out what yours needs and get it done right.
We inspect your paint under proper lighting to identify the type and depth of imperfections before we touch anything.
The vehicle is fully washed, clayed, and decontaminated so we’re starting on a clean surface.
We apply the appropriate level of machine polishing to remove imperfections and bring the gloss back.

We’ll tell you. Every correction service starts with a paint inspection under proper lighting. We assess the depth and type of imperfections and recommend the right package before any work begins.
It depends on the depth of the scratch. If it hasn’t gone through the clear coat, correction can remove or significantly reduce it. If it has, correction will improve the appearance but won’t fully eliminate it. We’ll be upfront about what’s possible during the inspection.
It varies by the level of correction and the size of the vehicle. Plan for anywhere from a few hours to a full day for more intensive work.
No, when done correctly. Correction removes a very thin layer of clear coat to eliminate imperfections. That’s why the inspection matters and why we use the appropriate level of correction for each vehicle rather than going heavier than necessary.
It’s a great combination. Correction restores the finish and coating locks it in and protects it going forward. We offer both and can handle them together.
